Haunt Of Southern-Fried Fear by Ronald Kelly

Cumberland Valley is a tiny township in the midst of hosting their annual old-fashioned corn shucking festival. The gathering is full of flannel shirts, denim overalls, spinning ole’ yarns and cornfield beauties. However, this celebration quickly develops into the darkest of seasons as the maiden of the Black Harvest is horrifically revealed.

When a man seeks much needed solitude and relaxation, a cabin in the Smoky Mountains seems to be the perfect choice. That said, this particular cabin’s salvation conceals hidden horrors, tormented anguish and excruciating cruelty.

A family explores a haunted house wherein the urban legend of Soap Sally allegedly dwells. Sally was a “witch” that abducted troublesome boys and girls making candles from their flesh inside her black iron cauldron. What they did not expect was an encounter with pure evil within the inhabited walls.

Ronald Kelly is the sole caretaker of this short story collection entitled Haunt Of Southern-Fried Fear. In the tradition of EC Comics, Kelly offers up his Tennessean Tales that include everything from babies crawling from their midnight graves to a haunted four foot spinning circular blade. These horrific atrocities of flesh and blood not only cause a festering chill of the bone but also breaks every rule rule that the Comics Code Authority has govern.

Nobody, and I mean nobody, can set a scary stage like Ronald Kelly. He generates his stories through the use of language, imagery, character and conflict. These ghostly voices, nightmarish conceptions and passageways to madness are all attributes to his endless talent. Don’t be a scaredy-cat! Open these cemetery gates and explore what Haunt Of Southern-Fried Fear has to offer. Kelly isn’t the King of Twisted Endings for nothin’ ya know.
I gotta say, cracking this book open is like opening a disturbing box of Cracker Jack, there’s a substantial amount of wonderful spooky prizes inside. Within these pages not only do you get a taste of terror with each tale but also included is the fantastic art of Mr. Ronald Kelly himself. And be sure to explore those vintage ads featured in the closing credits. Get great deals on .75 cent genuine vampire fangs or maybe purchase a life-like werewolf mask for $9.95 plus $1.25 shipping.
