Bladejob by Lucas Mangum
June 6, 2023

Incarcerated for twenty five years, Brian Hearns has been released from prison and is now among the general public once again. Formerly part of the AAPW (All-American Professional Wrestling), Brian is now attempting to take back his life and rekindle a relationship with his daughter. However, when an unusual offer involving dark magic and a mysterious black box is given, a second chance on life is more than he could bargain for. Author Lucas Mangum gives the reader a first hand look into the wrestling entertainment industry. We all know when Mangum provides a sinister submission hold, it won’t be your typical dark fiction story. From black magic rituals to grisly creatures with razor sharp teeth to an unforgettable pile of bones named Richard Kyle, Bladejob brings new meaning to the term satanic panic. Who would have thought that making a deal with the devil would be so much fun. Providing a visual representation of the ultimate smackdown, Mangum’s canvas of carnage delivers with a harsh Figure Four Leg Lock and an excruciating Texas Cloverleaf. Be that as it may, it’s the hand drawn occult symbolism (table salt not included) and the chanting of inhuman tongues that is enough to make the reader “tap out” due to the first-rate creepiness. Having the main character morally gray yet layered with good intentions is a component that adds to the unpredictable factor associated with the story. Bottom line, Lucas Mangum is an excellent storyteller.
The ringside bell won’t help the reader escape as Lucas brings the edginess, the bloodshed and the bizarre darkness he is known for. Lucas Mangum is to wrestling as suffering is to a stigmata. A Full Nelson five star ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Horror Bookworm Recommendation.
