Going Down Hard is a story of an unconventional relationship between neighborly serial killers. The uncertain admiration they have towards one another escalates into a grisly game of cat & mouse and a psychotic battle of the sexes. Ali Seay lays down a foundation of morbid motivations with regard to her characters committing their gruesome crimes. She invites the reader to her darkened playground where tense moments are driven by adrenaline and a sense of dread. I feel the author arranged a storyline where the reader experiences raw sympathetic emotions only to have it clash with unspeakable horrors. This forces the subject matter of moral judgement to be revealed. Gruesome predatory behavior, the arousal of inflicting pain and the collection of screams are all staples to this amazing little piece of extreme fiction. You don’t want to miss this one.
